Bespoke Oak Mantel Distressed Fireplace
It was a pleasure to work once again along side Good London Builders. Their own portfolio of impressive refurbishments and developments is growing all the time.
Their clients in Pimlico were undertaking an ambitious refurbishment of a stunning five story townhouse. They needed advice and project management on the four fireplaces within the townhouse.
Over a period of six months, we worked very closely with the clients. At the beginning of the project, we conducted smoke tests on the flue and unfortunately, due to their age, they failed. This meant we had to reline the four chimneys prior to installing the fireplaces.
For the fireplaces themselves, the clients chose two regency bullseye marble surrounds with slate slips and hearths for the reception room and study. In the bedroom, the existing marble surround stayed and we added some new slate slips and polished basket with gas fire.
In the kitchen/dining room, the client chose a bespoke oak mantel fireplace distressed with slate slips and hearth. This definitely suits the area and rest of the furniture perfectly.
